Moku O Keawe International Festival 2007

4th Day: Hula Competition [ Hula Auana Division ]
In the hula 'auana (modern) competition, the talented halau from Japan, Tahiti and Hawaii's Big Island proved again that the essence of hula is truly timeless, speaking to all generations through extraordinary execution. The ladies tonight were beautifully costumed in bright tropical fabrics and brilliant flower lei, transforming the stage at Hilton Waikoloa Village Palace Lawn into a dancing, rainbow-colored garden. The judges' decision was extraordinarily difficult this year, as each halau was outstanding in its own way, and each should be commended for a wonderful performance.
