"Moku O Keawe" is a traditional title that honors
a former ruling chief. The ruling chief Keawe is recognized
and connected to the island of Hawaii. His name lives
as we perpetuate it through usage.
Moku O Keawe Foundation is a private, non-profit
organization with the purpose of enriching the practice
and development of Hula and the associated arts. We welcome
our visitors with aloha, integrity and respect.

OUR
LOGO

Design by Sig Zane Designs
Pu`u Lehua
Pu`u Lehua
is the name of this logo design.
It speaks of a center
of energy, identifying this land of the volcano.
The pu`u, or hill, conveys a mountain that is young, one that has
not completed its growth cycle. It is believed that instilling elements
of history, culture, and tradition, into our portrayal of imagery,
we shall enlighten and educated on all levels subliminally and literally.

`Ōhi`a lehua is one of the first plants to sprout
from new lava. Symbolic of Pele and Hi`iaka, the
kinolau form is a foundation to many chants and
hula.

A triangle is a traditional metaphor of the
volcano. The volcano is a source of energy and
growth.
The illustration of flower and mountain conveys our relationship with
nature, new and growing.
